The Coincidence That Wasn’t

As I look back on this extended series I’m thankful for the journey it’s led me on. I’ve learned a lot, my senses have been heightened and I’ve felt a lot.

I don’t put much weight into my feelings because I’ve learned that our feelings can’t always be trusted. Plus, I can remember times in my life where I believed what I was feeling over the truth in my face.

Within this season of my life I’ve learned that my tolerance has dropped significantly for things that don’t make sense, petty behaviors and things that fall in the ridiculously redundant category. And even though I’ve gained patience that I didn’t ask God for, I accepted the fact that there will be more of these unsolicited clutters of nonsense in my space from time to time.

That patience though.

That patience that I didn’t ask God for but he gave me anyway keeps me from popping off at the mouth with irritation. That patience that’s yielding me to render words of love or my mouth shut entirely.

I didn’t pray for that, but it’s there.

I’m starting to take my coincidences more seriously, and l’m getting better at balancing my peace in uncomfortable situations. This is actually my favorite learned lesson so far because I’m not just balancing but I’m also protecting my peace.

Ah – that part.

It’s so wild how the first post of this series, The Beautiful Contradiction came full circle for me toward the end of the series. “Walking with God is like an oxymoron because it’s necessary for a better quality of life, but the walk isn’t always a smooth journey.” I wanted God to help me get better at protecting my peace, so he put me in multiple situations to where I had to protect my peace.

The coincidence.

The alignment.

Just God.

Spread the love
