When you’re on the journey to better there’s a lot of things going on, and if you’re like me you got more going on inwardly than externally.
So how do you keep moving forward when you’re battling with the voices in your head, doubt and life doing what life does all at the same time?
You go to your safe place.
You clean the negative from your thinking and build yourself up .
This looks different for all of us. For me, it’s music, yoga, conversations with God and sometimes inspirational videos on YouTube.
These things are my anchors that I repeat until I’m back to Joi. The important thing is that I’m not stopping my forward movement while I’m working toward better. The progress may not be as big as the previous steps taken and I could be completely surrounded by chaos and people pushing my buttons, but I’m not stopping.
I think having things in your life to anchor you through whatever transitions you’re dealing with are essential to your journey. They carry you to better, making things more tolerable to deal with. Anchors also help you maintain your focus which is another essential key to your journey because distractions are literally everywhere like air.
You don’t know the outcome of your journey but please know that you’re worth the fight so push through and stay curious about your ending.
