God meets us where we’re at. We don’t have to be Bible scholars or know every ritual religions implement — it’s about relationship. A relationship where your truth can strip down to its nakedness and you can say what you feel without judgment.
The space with God is safe.
He meets us because He knows exactly where we are, even when we don’t. Which makes pretending with Him ridiculous and unnecessary. I don’t know is a place. Not knowing your next step is a place. And from experience, He’s met me everywhere — in the club while I was kicking it with both feet, and right in the middle of me implementing certified bullshit. I’m telling you, He meets you where you’re at.
I’m not saying this happens to everyone, but there’s something about letting God in — even once — that stays active inside you. No matter what you do, what you say, or who you interact with, you can’t forget that He happened in your life. And that awareness? It sits in your internal space whether you want it to or not.
You know when you’ve done something beneath who you are. You know when your words were uncalled for. You know when the people you were hanging with weren’t aligned with you. Trying to fit into something you know isn’t you is a waste of your time and a complete disservice to yourself.
The sooner you stop pretending, the quicker you get to you — and there’s peace in that. There’s peace in God, so let Him meet you. Because honestly, none of us know what we’re doing. We’re all out here trying to get this life thing right with what we know.
