Check out what you’ve been missing…

Well Alibaba’s Taobao has been caught selling counterfeit merchandise again. You know, I don’t want to sound like a complete asshole about the largest e-commerce site in China, but they should just drop all of their prices down to what we’re paying at the gas stations and hair stores and be done with it. This will make for the second year in a row in being added to this list, and Alibaba Group’s president Michael Evans told the press, “In light of all this, it’s clear that no matter how much action we take and progress we make, the USTR is not actually interested in seeing tangible results.” I think Evans may be missing the point that, all of their efforts and progress has gotten them exactly the same results that’s put them on the list before, but maybe that’s just how I’m holding my head regarding the matter.

2 Chainz is the perfect example of the old saying, ‘your gift will make room for you’, because that’s exactly how it’s been going down in Milan with the Versace x Chain Reaction collaboration. If you’re a Hairweavekiller fan such as myself, then you already know Chainz and Donatella Versace have been one of the major highlights of this year’s Milan Fashion Week. The chunky Chain Reaction sneakers debuted during this year’s Versace catwalk in several different colorwarys. It’s my opinion, that with the busy shades and crazy designs the Versace x Chain Reaction sneakers are nothing less than a perfect fit for 2 Chainz’s hoodfather persona and the label’s swaggerstalgia,. The kicks are rumored to release within the next couple of months so make sure to keep your cateyes open to Versace’s site.

The Belstaff label has hired Helen Wright as their new chief executive officer. Wright will succeed Gavin Haig who terminated immediately following the announcement of his departure. Wright however, comes from years of luxury experience, working for the likes of Anya Hindman, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren (Europe), and Fendi. With her experience she’s forecasted to add great value to the Belstaff brand.

Dig on it or not, but the collaboration between Levi’s and the Jordan brand hits the streets today. The alliance consists of Levi’s infamous trucker jacket which is reversible for those of us that really enjoy fashionable options, along with the Air Jordan 4s denim sneakers. The release is kicking off worldwide, but is actually only available at select retailers. Meaning for us here in the states, you can get both the jacket and the sneakers at retailers such as Concepts in Boston and New York, Undefeated in Los Angeles, and Shoe Gallery as well as Solefly in Miami. For those people only interested in the shoes (within the U.S.) you can visit merchants such as Wish and A Ma Maniere in Atlanta, Feature in Las Vegas, Xhibition in Cleveland, Bodega in Boston, and 32 So. State Street, Saint Alfred, and the RSVP Gallery in Chicago. So, don’t tarry be a trendsetter and see what’s up.

Kim Jones is exiting his role as Louis Vuitton’s creative director of menswear. His last collection will debut this week in Milan and from there, he’s off to the Burberry label. He is set to succeed Christopher Bailey who will depart in March of this year.

Congratulations are in order for designer Stella McCartney for launching her first ever men’s swimwear collection. Ironically, her SS18 ready-to-wear capsule also debuted last week, however both bundles are currently on a pre-order status. Some of the pieces you can expect under McCartney’s new swimwear collection are the traditional trunks, along with towels, shirts, ponchos, and an expecting shipping date of January 31st. As for the newest RTW menswear collection, expect a wide variety of double-breasted jackets along with sweaters, bespoke pants, and accessories with a February 15th shipping date. As you can see both capsules will ship right in time for spring, which is something I know we’re all overly ready for.

Well known photographers Mario Testino and Bruce Weber have been called-out for sexual misconduct amongst male models. The breaking news was released by the New York Times in an investigation rumored to have been brewing since November 2017, nearly a month after the Harvey Weinstein scandal was released. Over two dozen active and former models have stated that they were harrassed by the two photographers, some still afraid to say who they are due to consequences it could have on their career. I look at sexual harassment claims the same way I do a party, if you’re not invited you can’t come, and ‘No.’ is a complete sentence regardless of the tone period.
