Amazon has announced the opening of their 2nd corporate office which will be housed in Vancouver, Canada. This office isn’t to be confused with the e-tailer’s mass ‘cattle call’ recently made within the U.S., this is something totally different that’s been in the works for a while now. The question is, why would a company based out of Seattle go to Vancouver??? Well, with the Trump administration new visa laws, the revisions have created more than a few struggles for immigrants to work within the United States. With that said, Canada has decided to take advantage of North America’s loss by initiating a fast-track visa program, making it easier for highly skilled workers to work. Personally, as an American I feel like my country is missing out on some great opportunities, but I guess we’ll have to play the hand we’re dealt until our change comes. However, this is an awesome economic opportunity for Vancouver, because with Amazon’s expansion to Canada they’re forecasted to double the city’s workforce by year 2020 – growth is everything.
