Check out how things went down in the fashion industry last week…

Every since Kate Upton outed Guess Inc.’s co-founder Paul Marciano with a #MeToo allegation, the retail company has been in a slump. The situation has turned into a full blown ‘he said’ ‘she said’ nightmare, and as a woman, even I’m feeling some type of way after the whole “nonverbal” situation with comedian Aziz Ansari. Let’s be real ladies, I don’t care how long you’ve been with your man, you can catch a full leg cramp in the middle of sex and he would never notice – and that’s real. However, Kate Upton is not the only woman who’s called sexual harassment against Marciano, and he has remained firm in denying both claims. Matter of fact the label told Business of Fashion, “To date, the current investigation has not corroborated either allegation, and the board of directors has been unable to determine that either accusation has merit.” Which is why a lot of women hold their tongues on these types of behaviors toward the them. Yet, if nothing else comes from Upton putting Marciano on blast, she can at least have the bragging rights of being the one who initiated the worse declination that the high-powered retailer’s stock has seen in more than five years.

The Sequential Brands Group, Inc. has announced a new partnership with former NBA legend Kevin Garnett for their AND1 label. KG is currently an analyst on “Area 21” for the NBA Network on TNT. President of Sequential’s Active Division stated, “For 25 years, AND1 has remained synonymous with the game of basketball and its street-ball lifestyle. As we look to the future, we’re excited to bring Kevin Garnett back to AND1 as the brand’s creative director, global ambassador and strategist, to widen the brand’s distribution channels and to expand into new territories. We’re looking forward to working with Garnett and rolling out the innovative programs we have planned for the year, which will further deepen the brand’s connection to consumers.” This announcement comes parallel to the label’s 25th anniversary, making the anticipation almost unbearable for the launch of the AND1 x Kevin Garnett’s collection. The Big Ticket expressed his excitement with saying, “I’m thrilled to get back to my roots and partner with AND1, one of the best basketball brands in the industry. We have many initiatives underway that we’ll be launching, including my new capsule collection, which I’m particularly excited about.”

The diverse shoe collection ranges from heels to boots, decorated with prints, straps, solids, florals, sheer, rubber, and even a little charm action for some of the high heels. The inspiration for the capsule stems from the infamous Diana, Princess of Wales, so expect the collection to retail from $75 to $1995. Preorders are currently being taken online here, and the people of Paris can expect the pop-up boutique to stay around for as long as March 4th.

Country music singer, Dierks Bentley launched his Desert Son clothing collection with the Flag & Anthem retailer last week. Inspired by his home state of Arizona, the collection contains vintage tees, hoodies, as well as trucker hats to accessorize the look. Bentley voiced his enthusiasm stating, “This has been such a fun thing to create and develop. I love clothes that are perfectly worn-in like you’ve had them a lifetime, but can also take the wear and tear that comes from an active lifestyle. I’ve learned over the last few months that there’s a real art to getting that just right. The Flag & Anthem guys have been doing it at the highest level and have helped me put together a collection that I think is totally authentic to me and one that hopefully people all over the country will dig too.” The Desert Sun capsule is currently retailing online as well as at Dillards, Buckle, and Von Maur. In addition to launching Desert Sun, Bentley has continued to stay busy promoting his new album and gearing up for his Mountain High Tour which kicks-off in May, featuring Brothers Osborne and Lanco.

After releasing his new album, “Man of the Woods”, and performing at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, Justin Timberlake still made time to debut a weekend pop-up in NYC last week. The opening of the boutique is completely inspired by Timberlake’s 16-track LP, as each track collaborates with various labels such as Warby Parker, Levis, Jordan Brand, and Pendleton to name a few. In addition to promoting his new album, JT is also preparing for his “Man of the Woods” tour, which kicks off next month in March. Pre-sales are still taking place for select locations up until February 23rd.

Nike released their “1 Reimagined” bundle last Wednesday on an in-store only basis at select retailers.
